It’s about coming to terms with the fact that though you may feel that your experiences were special, because they were new for both of you, they still can be usurped by someone elses. And accepting the notion that simply because you were meaningful to someone once doesn’t mean that you still affect them.
Maybe firsts can only be defined by what comes after, not the other way around.”
